Reviews for Paris Night Photography Tour

What a wonderful experience! Alexander customized his advice to my level of experience, and he was a very helpful and patient teacher--I learned how to use some previously un-utilized features of my camera, and Paris at night is a photographer's fantasy! The three hours passed in a flash, and I'm looking forward to applying what I learned by venturing out with my camera and tripod during my remaining evenings in Paris.

I will be the envy of my friends now I have the photos Alexander helped me take. They are amazing and I hope I can put all I learnt into practice.....no more automatic settings ;-) Alexander is very knowledgeable, knows all the best locations and aspects and was very patient with me....teaching the girl from Dubbo a few tricks. I would recommend this tour, not only to learn the skills to take beautiful photos but to experience Paris at night with a local

On 9/1/14 my wife and I went on Alexander B's wonderful photography night tour. Our guide that night was the personable and knowledgeable Caspar. Caspar started the tour in a small cafe near the Louvre and as we sipped coffee and chocolate Caspar went through a short photo power point presentation. The presentation explained what we would be doing that night and showed us some of Alexanders work. Caspar looked at both our cameras and settings then off we went to the Louvre to photograph the pyramid from different angles. Since my wife and I were beginners in photo jargon he helped us set up the cameras and explained the settings and capabilities of our cameras. Before we took any photos Alexander set up his tripod for my SLR camera and explained to get truly great night photos you need a tripod. From the first photo to the last 3 hours later our photos turned out beautifully. My wife uses a little canon and Alexander worked with her to use the AV functions. He had her place her camera on a stable area to get beautiful photos. We began at Louvre and we worked our way to Place De Concorde, Champs and then the blinking Eiffel Tower. We were able to take photos of lights that became stars and learned to take photos of passing cars to produce streaking cars and later by the Eiffel Tower streaking boats. Caspar encouraged us to move around and be creative with our photography. Caspar was there every moment to guide us and our photos turned out so well we walked the Paris streets today to find a camera store to buy a good tripod. This was an amazing, fun and educational evening and a highlight to our Paris adventure! I would highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in night photography and they cater your tour to your ability level. I must also add from before we booked the trip Alexander explained everything and once booked he gave us fantastic directions on where the tour would begin. He also provided us both his and Casper's email and phone if we needed to reach them. Thanks again Steve

Hi, I had a photo tour with Alexander in early June 2014. It was a very rewarding night out. After having a discussion on my photography and what I was trying to achieve we set out walking the streets of Paris. A very enjoyable experience, learning about Paris and photography, experimenting with different photographic techniques and discussing the art. Definitely repeating this night with Alexander when I come back. Mark.K

I booked the Paris Night Photography Tour with Alexander but he was unable to make it due to unexpected delay. He however made arrangements for another photographer to take over the tour. William was a fantastic last minute substitute, without the Dali moustache (oh well we can't have everything). It was an enjoyable evening with some great shots. William had me take all my pictures in full manual mode which I did for most of my trip unless circumstances dictated that partial manual was more convenient. The best part of the tour was William encouraging me to try different angles and framing which held me in good stead on the rest of the trip.

We had a great tour and a great time with Alexander. We were looking for a way to see Paris at night without being herded around by one of those awful bus tours - and this was it. We had a great time, learned about Paris and our camera, and came back with amazing photos. Definitely sign up for this tour!

I took a night photography tour with Caspar on 5/19 while we were in Paris. I am a long-time photographer but have never done any night shooting and had a new camera as well. I don't shoot in auto mode so I was a little skeptical about how much I would get out of the tour. I specifically wanted to learn how to take those eye-popping night time photos you see in magazines. Caspar was fun, knowledgable about his craft and the city and a fantastic instructor. He spent time with me to learn my level of technical knowledge and understanding of basic photography. On the first shot he took me out of my comfort zone and had me shooting in manual mode. I came away with some really great pictures from that night. More importantly, I came away with an understanding of how to use my camera's capabilities to do some very creative work. Caspar taught me how to think differently about what I wanted to get from a shot and how to set up the camera to achieve what I wanted. I highly recommend this tour no matter what your level of expertise. Not only will you have fun and learn more about Paris, you will definitely have an excellent learning experience.

I am the type of person who rarely leaves reviews. This tour is great enough for me to make the effort. I've had photography lessons before that have left me confused enough to wish I hadn't taken them in the first place. Alex takes the time at the beginning of the tour to look at your camera, find your knowledge base, explain settings and find out what you like to photograph. He then guides you around, finds a general area with you, let's you pick the shot and gives gentle guidance on what to do to make your shots better. I'm the type of person who has to get instructions, then do it before I understand. He is not only an expert photographer, he is kind person and a fantastic instructor. Not all who understand photography know how to teach it. Alex knows both. He was also kind enough to send me the instructional material so my friend wouldn't have to take notes while he talked and I played with my camera. And when my battery died, he loaned me his camera to use. Did I mention he also loaned me his tripod? Alex is an all around package and a class act. He's friendly, professional, kind and definitely worth the money (and I'm about as tight as they come with money.) 5 stars all the way! Merci Alex!

Thanks Alexander! We really enjoyed our night tour with you. Starting with coffee at a nearby cafe and discussing our camera functions Alexander easily understood where we were at in terms of our photography skills and before we knew it we were taking photos at the Louvre and discussing new ways of thinking about photography, camera functions, composition etc. We needed to bring our kids (age 10 & 11) along and he incorporated some "light writing" into the evening and even though we had done a bit before it gave us some new ideas and kept the kids entertained as well! We ended up with some really nice photos of the Louvre, bridges along the Seine and Eiffel Tower that we were really pleased with. We were so inspired we purchased a tripod the next day and took some night photos around the Bastille where we were staying on our own with surprisingly good results and incorporating Alexander's tips and tricks which we are very grateful for. Definitely worth doing when in Paris- great way to learn some new skills, see Paris at night and get some great photos! We highly recommend it.

Our night started off with a lesson. I am/was an amateur photographer but after the night with Alexander I realized that I can take that next step. If you like to learn, have fun, have a nice night, have a good time and to learn a bit about Paris then go with Alexander. Thank you Alex I had a great time

I'm doing photography since a while, but still, Alexander Bradley managed to teach me a lot. He knew how to perfectly adjust his tour to my level of experience spiced up with a generous portion of humour. I really want to thank him for a great evening - it was just amazing.

Alex is a great guide. He knows Paris top to bottom, and is a gifted story teller to boot. He took me to parts of the city I can guarantee that only a handful of people ever get to see. He's flexible and can help you plan an experience that's unique to what you're looking for. If you're looking for a real adventure, I highly recommend connecting with Alex.

I had a fantastic night with Alexander. Very casual, yet informative and fun. Would definitely look at doing another night in the future.

We had an absolutely fantastic time doing the night photography tour with Alexander. Our group varied enormously in our experience, ability and the cameras we were using but Alexander was able to cater to our individual needs perfectly. Being able to do a private photography tour was a great way to spend a night seeing Paris with close friends and was so worthwhile. We only wish we'd had time to do the daytime tour as well while we were in Paris!

A really excellent experience. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone interested in taking some fabulous night photos in Paris, whatever their photography expertise. Alexander obviously loves photography - he tailored the tour perfectly, and he was fun and very knowledgeable. I really liked how he had sample photos on his ipad all taken with different apertures, exposures, ISO etc.

I was fortunate enough to take the Paris Photo Walking Tour in the day, followed by the Paris Night Photography Tour the same evening. I highly recommend taking both--maybe not on the same day because it is a lot of walking. If you are not into walking, still take both, but split them up. Having said that, it was an AWESOME experience. Alexander is a great teacher and the lessons from one course flow into the next. I was fortunate enough to take pictures on Bastille Day in the day and the fireworks at night. Alexander helped to make my visit to Paris a memorable one! Alexander is passionate about his craft and makes you want to do better. He also takes the time to get to learn a little about you and shares quite a bit about himself as well. I HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get better at night photography. After this experience, I want to take more shots at night. Thanks for the memorable experience, Alexander!

We were in Paris for four nights and booked a personal guided night photography tour with Alexander. He is pro photographer with some fantastic work which you can checkout by looking through his website and online galleries. We meet him in a coffee bar for an hour long chat to talk about photography and my experience before we set out to shoot some pictures. He is a charismatic guy and a patient teacher who listens. He was organised with a structured lesson plan and I really enjoyed the whole experience. His communication prior to the booking was excellent with rapid responses to my questions. He made things easy and was flexible working with our schedule and the weather. I would recommend this tour with Alexander to anyone staying a few days in Paris. Do the tour in the first few days you are there if you can because if you are anything like me you will want to go out every night after that.

This is a great opportunity to learn a lot of things in photography in just one evening. Alexander is an experienced photographer who will use the great scenery in the center of Paris to help you explore the possibilities that your camera offers you. His advices include both creative aspects about composing pictures as well as precious technical knowledge that will help you improve your photos. Alexander is also just a great person that will kindly answer any of your questions and adapt to your personal needs and interests. Moreover, listening to Alex and seeing his work is truly inspirational and will give you lots of ideas. E. J.
